| British people send sms oftener after smoking ban
The amount of British people, who send sms messages from their mobile phones, increased as the smoking ban in public places came into force in Great Britain.
According to the investigation of British cellular operator Orange, the amount of sent sms for two weeks from the day of smoking ban introducing increased at 7,5 millions, ran up to 519,5 millions of sms.
The Company considers the sms boom is connected firstly with British people who gave up smoking in public places, pubs and clubs. According to the chief researcher Nick Bonny, smokers who were subjected to ostracism, tried to keep in touch with their companions in distress in such a way.
At the same time, some smokers sent sms in order to occupy their hands to draw away from smoking habit.
